Visual Arts Tour
On Thursday 8th November AvÐÔ°® Christi Year 12 ATAR class took the opportunity to visit the Art Gallery of Western Australia. The current show was the Sidney Nolan Ned Kelly exhibition and Black Swan Portrait prize. Both shows were inspiring with the famous Kelly series explained in depth to the student groups from the two tour guides. Painted in the 1940's the images depicted Ned Kelly as the hero outlaw and continued to explore his legendary status. The group was also fortunate enough to meet Patrick Doherty, one of the subjects in the Black Swan portrait prize. Even though it was a brief meeting and visit the varied approaches to portraiture left an impression on the students to test and trial new ideas back in the class room.
