Our Story
Recent enhancements have expanded opportunities for our learners, particularly through the redefinition of inclusive and diverse learning as K-12 frameworks, and the extension of our digital creativity course into the Junior School. Maintaining our affiliation with the Apple Distinguished Schools Program will sustain our trajectory of growth and progress, capitalising on an extensive international network of like-minded educators whom we are equally committed to engaging with. The Av Christi College community exudes a genuine sense of wonder and appreciation for the myriad possibilities our journey holds. We are unwaveringly devoted to inquiry, reflection, and self-reflection, firmly believing that this program presents a reciprocal opportunity to cultivate conditions conducive to excellence in learning.

At Av Christi College, our ethos centres on fostering hope and lifelong learning. We amplify student voice, offering 65+ specialised courses in Years 9 and 10, from The Art of Podcasting to “Just Start It” (CBL framework), nurturing creativity and practical skills. Collaborative teaching enables students to create podcasts, apps, websites, and products. Prioritising wellbeing with UR Strong and Digital Citizenship ensures holistic community engagement. Our commitment to professional development includes a history of Apple Distinguished Educators and 100% Apple Teacher certification. Through Digital Pioneers, we empower staff and students in coding, critical thinking, and creative expression, shaping a future-ready generation.

Our Vision statement, “Outstanding for Others,” challenges us to harness digital technology's potential across all subjects. With Apple TV, MacBook, and iPad in every classroom, collaboration and challenge-based learning flourish. Students connect, collaborate, and personalise their learning journey, fostering creativity and ownership. Utilising versatile tools like Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iMovie, and GarageBand, they craft and share ideas, making learning personal and impactful.

We integrate assistive technology to accommodate all learners, ensuring lessons are universally accessible. Students take ownership of their creative journey, shaping products that authentically reflect their communication styles. Our educators engage in collaborative action research, sharing and celebrating discoveries within our learning community. Through dynamic learning carousels, topics range from utilising AI for inquiry to optimising ready-to-learn check-ins. Moreover, our faculty and leaders actively disseminate successes and insights, providing learning opportunities and walkthroughs to showcase our impactful practices to wider professional network at a national and international level.
