Fremantle Eisteddfod 2017

The 2017 Fremantle Eisteddfod was an exciting opportunity for students to showcase their musical talents. Students from the many instrumental ensembles and choirs, as well as numerous soloists represented the college at this prestigious event. Months of hard work and dedication from the teachers, tutors, students and their families, helped make this year another year of great success for AvÐÔ°® at the festival.

The success is owed to Mr Harries, Miss Meegan, Mrs Hunt, Miss Gardiner, Ms Royer, Mrs Robertson, Mrs Alexander along with the many music tutors at AvÐÔ°® Christi College.  Their perseverance and leadership helped the students embrace the full spirit of the Fremantle Eisteddfod.

It was always a lot of fun rehearsing together and sharing the joy of performing together on stage. We were entertained by the Boys Choir's imaginative performance, moved by the beauty of the Woodwind Ensemble and were dancing along to the Saxophone Ensemble's groovy performance.

Each group did extremely well and the following choirs & ensembles won first place at the festival!!!

Year 7 Choir – The Minor Details
Year 8 Choir – The Major Leagues
Boys Choir
Senior Flute Ensemble

All our choirs and ensembles blew the audience away with their musical abilities and did the college proud and almost all of them we awarded certificate’s which is a huge achievement. It is always amazing to participate in events like the Fremantle Eisteddfod and the process is always incredibly rewarding. Go AvÐÔ°®!

Megan Schutte – Year 8

We would like to acknowledge all students that participated in the Fremantle Eisteddfod in one of our many Choirs and Ensembles (listed below).  Not only were their musical performances excellent, but their behaviour and the way they supported other performances was outstanding.  The organiser of the event made special mention of the vast improvement in the quality of all performances from AvÐÔ°® Christi College, and wishes us continued success as we move towards the Performing Arts Festival for Catholic Schools and Colleges.

I would also like to take the opportunity to thank our wonderful tutors.  Their efforts have helped to make these results the best AvÐÔ°® has ever received in all the years that we have been attending the Fremantle Eisteddfod.  To the team in the Music Department – THANKS for everything you do.

We are still collating the numerous awards for the soloist and duets (vocal & instrumental).  We look forward to sharing these results with you at the earliest convenience.

Music is on the rise at AvÐÔ°®...
