Curtin Uni Ready

Students can complete the Curtin Uni Ready course in Year Twelve with successful completion of the course providing an ATAR equivalent of 70. This course commences in the fourth term of 2024, with a total of four units required.

UniReady is taught in standard Australian English and although academic language skills are covered, it is not an English language development course. To be able to engage effectively with the UniReady course it is recommended that you have:

  • A spoken English level where you can comfortably converse in English in the classroom setting.

  • A reading English level where you can readily comprehend an Australian newspaper article.

  • A written English level where you can produce a comprehensible paragraph of text about a topic with mostly correct grammar and punctuation.

Pre-Requisites:

  • A B grade or higher in English General in Year Eleven or a C grade or higher in Year 11 ATAR English.

  • A B grade or high in Mathematics Essentials General in Year 11 or a C grade or higher in Year 11 Maths Applications ATAR.

Certificate IV combination option:

  • In 2025, students completing a certificate IV course can also opt to complete the two compulsory Curtin Uni Ready units to provide them with the skills for entering university following high school while also meeting the English competency requirements.


Murdoch Flexi Track High

The Murdoch Flexi Track High program allows students in Year 12 to study units which will provide them with the foundational knowledge for university life. Successful completion of the Flexi Track High course over terms 1, 2 and 3 of Year 12 entitles students to an ATAR equivalent of 70 and entry into a range of undergraduate courses at Murdoch University. There is a specific option within the Flexi Track High program for students considering studies in nursing or education.

Pre-Requisites:

  • To demonstrate English competence for entry into the program, applicants must demonstrate that they have achieved 'B' or higher in general English or a 'D' or higher in ATAR English in year 11.


Notre Dame Uni Path

One of the more recent additions to the suite of enabling options, the Notre Dame Uni Path provides students the opportunity to establish a learning connection to Western Australia’s Catholic University. With a slightly different structure, Uni Path is a 12-week program that will allow successful candidates direct entry into undergraduate programs at the University of Notre Dame. The is an on-campus option for students, meaning they are required to attend Notre Dame University in Fremantle for one full day a week, for 12 weeks.

There are four pre-determined units in the Uni Path programme:

  • Learning for University

  • Research & Academic Writing

  • Essential Mathematics

  • Communication Skills

Pre-Requisites:

Entry into the Uni Path program is based on Year 11 academic results.

If you are studying predominently general subjects, you will require:

  • 4 general subjects of which one must be English

  • Minimum B grades in all subjects

VET qualifications will be considered alongside the subject grades above

If you are studying ATAR subjects and/or some general subjects, you will require:

  • General subjects minimum B grades (minimum 2 general subjects)

  • ATAR subjects minimum C grades (1 or 2 ATAR level subjects)

  • English is compulsory (General B grade or ATAR C grade)
